According to a published (then retracted) preview on GamesRadar, the upcoming Resident Evil 5 will support online cooperative play and sport a new “duck and cover” play system.
The online co-op makes it possible for other players to drop in and out throughout the entire game. This will undoubtedly allow players to make the game as much (or little) of a communal experience as they desire. When an online player is not available, the game will substitute an AI character in their place.
The duck and cover system is similar to that seen in other recent games and will allow players to hide behind a wall and shoot their weapons around the corner. This is the first time the technique will be used in a Resident Evil game.

Hmm, if this stays in the game, I think it would be a great addition to the series! I'm all for duck and cover, and co-op/online play!

Resident Evil 5 Demo Release Date
Mark your calender's boys and girls for the demo for the highly anticipated Resident Evil 5 is due out later this month. Gamespot got word that Capcom will be releasing the demo on January 26, but only if you have a Xbox360. That's right, us 360 owners will be given the demo while people with PS3 are left in the dust!!!! No demo for you!
Okay, before y'all with PS3s scream and cry, don't fret. You'll get the demo, I was just kidding. But you'll be getting it a week after 360. So be sure to check the demo section of downloadable content come the 26th. The demo will allow the gamer to sample two sections of the game, playing through either single player (with the computer controling Sheva) or the new co-op mode.
Set roughly ten years after the original game, Chris Redfield (now part of an anti-Bioterriorism agency) is dispatched to Africa to investigate strange goings on in a small, run down city. Redfield however is not alone as a fellow agent named Sheva Alomar is sent along with him.
Resident Evil 5 is due out on March 13, 2009 for Xbox360 and Playstation 3, both will retail for $59.99; and like most big releases nowadays, there will also be a Collector's Edition. Special features for the Collector's Edition haven't been fully released yet and it will set you back a hefty $89.99.

Re: Resident Evil 5
Resident evil 5 is NOT a zombie game, nor is RE4, they are form the same stories yes, but there are no zombies, a true Resident evil Fan knows it + ingame the characters say it themselves that those were not zombies. Play teh 1st ones (RE1, RE2 (the best), RE3, RECV:X, specially RE Outbreak and RE Outbreak 2, there u fight zombies.
