It depends on the location, and I would do neither I would call the cops, and if they get bit then I would start a killing spree. By the way, where are the cops if a crazed lunatic runs around and tries to bite people.

If you've read world war z you know what i'm talking about. Zombies really only have two three things going for them.

1. Persistence (I can not stress enough this is their number one attribute)

2. Great numbers

3. Difficult to kill unless at a very close proximity

Staying put, no matter your defenses (save for an ideal position such as a prison or army base with adequate defenses) put you at a great risk.

I think the important element when it comes to deciding whether to stay in your home or to leave in the event of a zombie attack is going to be the nature of the zombie attack - and the only way for you to know that is to keep appraised of the situation as it happens.

I think that in the event of a small-scale invasion, say under a dozen zombies, probably most people's houses ...

Here's what I say - when the zombie infection happens, you need to high-tail it to the nearest outdoor store - or better yet, the factory or the warehouse where they store the stuff before they sell it.

It's a good place to hole up - better than a damn shopping mall, anyway.

But you shouldn't really have to leave your place - if you're already ready before the zombies come!

I personally opt for staying - but only if you've got a workable escape plan in the event that the siege outside becomes unbreakable. Roaming out and about in the midst of a zombie outbreak sounds promising, but as we know from reading books like World War Z and the Zombie Survival Guide, there are all kinds of threats out there besides zombies that are just as deadly.
