My ranged weapon of choice is a compound bow which I will always choose over any melee weapon. Unlike guns a compound bow uses arrows which can be recovered easily after any battle. It is also lighter and easier to repair than a gun. Now in the case of more zombies than arrows then you should take out your melee weapon but we should all try to avoid these encounters. I was watching the Military Channel last night (no, I'm not one of those guys, I just like watching things blow up), and they had a special on the Top Ten Rifles of all time...

It was like a zombie-primer, man! They ran down the ten best rifles from top to bottom, listing ammo, stopping power, availability and everything else...I was glad to see some of my favorite rifles up on the list.

Shotgun all the way, baby - there's nothing better for killing zombies. It doesn't take much to destroy the brain - even a fragment of buckshot in there will do the trick.

Melee weapons are stylish, but when you're facing down uncountable zombies, sometimes you just need the stopping power that a shotgun affords...
