I think farm equipment or a bulldozer would be a good thing to have around, but in the interest of exploring other ideas, what does anyone think about explosives? Maybe pipe bombs or something to that effect. Coupled with a good vehicle an explosive may provide the room you need to escape, or perhaps an untraversable crater. I'm not that familiar with the possibilities.

Agricultural equipment is what you need to break a zombie siege! Where I live the stuff is all over - and most of the farmers leave the keys in them at night.

A backhoe or a thresher or something like that would work great against a zombie crowd. Why go over a bunch of zombies when you can just drive right through them?

I think to really break out of a hardcore zombie siege you'd need a good vehicle - preferably something that's too heavy to flip and has lots and lots of torque - to move lots of zombies from a dead stop. That's why I think you'd definitely need a bulldozer or another earth mover - the treads would roll right over zombies, they're heavy duty and they would definitely carve a path wherever you needed ...
