“The Real Deal” achievement is a particularly difficult Left 4 Dead achievement to gain; in order to get this achievement, you’ll need to play all the way through, and survive, any campaign on Expert difficulty level, with the new L4D2 “realism mode” enabled. “Realism Mode” is a much more difficult modification of Left 4 Dead 2; among the differences: you need to get head shots on zombies, fallen teammates can only be revived with the defibrillator, and there are many more witches in each level.
Like the “Still Something to Prove” achievement, the best way to gain “The Real Deal” achievement is to play with three other human teammates with low pings who are familiar with each other, with the levels themselves and with the differences inherent to Realism Mode.
Since “Dead Center” is 20% shorter than other campaigns (it only has 4 chapters), this may be the easiest campaign to use to get “The Real Deal” achievement. However, the finale for that level can be quite difficult, so players are advised to practice with Scavenge mode and plan ahead how to best complete the finale strategically.
“The Real Deal” achievement is one of the hardest achievements to get in Left 4 Dead 2, but it’s also immensely satisfying. Good luck!
