Getting the “Club Dead” achievement in Left 4 Dead 2 is actually much easier than it sounds, since you don’t actually have to finish any campaigns or chapters to get it. In order to gain the “Club Dead” achievement, you’ll need to use each melee weapon to kill common infected zombies at least once. There isn’t much of a pattern to how the melee weapons spawn in each level, with a few exceptions: the tonba (police baton) is only available in The Parish campaign, and you can usually find it dropped by the zombies in the SWAT armor.
Since you don’t have to actually finish a campaign to gain the “Club Dead” achievement, you can just pop into and out of chapters until you find all of the necessary melee weapons to complete the achievement, or you can simply play through the game, grabbing each melee weapon as you see it.
NOTE: You do NOT need to use the chainsaw to gain the “Club Dead” achievement – the chainsaw is not considered one of the “normal” melee weapons and does not apply to the “Club Dead” achievement.
